Schaan (FL), January 7, 2020 – At the beginning of 2020 some 200 Hilti employees moved into the new Middle Office Building at Corporate Headquarters in Schaan, Liechtenstein. This is the third building to either be renovated or newly built as part of the company’s comprehensive modernization of its headquarters location.
The working environment in the new office is designed according to the open space principle. It contains generous open areas and modest visual boundaries, encouraging communication while ensuring transparency and shorter paths. The spatial concept provides a balance between areas where employees can openly communicate and quiet space for focused work and concentration. Employees will be working according to the “flex desk” principle, where they may select their individual work station according to shifting requirements and needs. This makes for agile working methods and independence. A newly designed park area, outside the building, will provide additional space for rest or reflection.
“It’s important for us to promote the creativity and inventiveness of our employees with a correspondingly modern working environment,” says Hilti Group Executive Board Member Jahangir Doongaji. “A flexible working environment provides employees the opportunity to develop. We place a great deal of stock in the many diverse possibilities for cooperation as every innovation represents a team effort. A more modern corporate headquarters also allows us to better position Hilti on the international jobs market and to enthuse talent from around the world to come and work in Liechtenstein.”
The next stage of the comprehensive work being done on Hilti’s campus is the completion of the new North Office Building, scheduled for the end of 2020. When completed, the old North Office complex, sitting next to the company’s parking garage, will be demolished to make room for the final component of the Hilti campus’s modernization: a large park area featuring substantial green space as well as common areas both open to the elements and sheltered.
